Our take: Eleven years in, Lickers has built a genuinely loyal following around its rotating gelato roster — and for good reason.
Standouts like the Hazelnut Truffle, Honeycomb, and seasonal Mao Shan Wang durian scoop consistently draw repeat visitors, and the waffle pairing at around $14.50 is a crowd favourite, even if the texture leans airy rather than aggressively crisp.
The flavour ambition is real: limited drops like Pandan Gula and Cold Brew Crème show a kitchen that's still curious after a decade.
The truffle fries are a sleeper hit worth ordering alongside your scoops.
Where Lickers falls short is consistency — in both product and people.
Portion sizes have visibly dipped according to regulars, the pistachio flavour has been called out for lacking depth, and service quality swings sharply depending on who's behind the counter.
On understaffed nights, waffle orders can slip through the cracks for 35 minutes-plus, and accountability when things go wrong is patchy.
The ice cream itself earns its reputation; the operational side hasn't always kept pace with the brand's expansion across five-plus outlets.
Best for a neighbourhood dessert run on a quieter weekday evening — the product delivers when the floor isn't overwhelmed.
Groups of four or more should manage expectations on waffle wait times during weekend peaks.

What customers say
Lickers draws strong repeat custom on the back of its creative, rotating gelato lineup — standouts like Honeycomb, Pistachio, Valrhona Chocolate, Milo, and seasonal specials such as Pandan Gula and Cold Brew Crème are consistently praised as rich and flavourful.
Waffles and truffle fries also earn frequent compliments, though some customers find the $14.50 waffle set pricey and note the waffles are softer than expected.
The most significant negative thread is service inconsistency: multiple reviewers at different outlets describe a specific staff member or shift where interactions felt rushed, dismissive, or unprofessional, while other visits — and verified member reviews — highlight warm, attentive staff who go out of their way for customers.
A secondary concern involves portion sizes and packaging for takeaway orders, with some members noting smaller servings compared to past visits and ice cream arriving melted due to inadequate packaging on delivery.

I had your best ice-cream dining experience last Thursday on 4 June together with my friends. Your ice-cream and waffle tastes very delicious. I can see two service staffs whom are Xiu Qing and another female staff working so hard together as a team to run the operation. I know it’s not easy when two staffs are working together and when there tend to be more customers. I sincerely thank both of u for all the hard work and effort that u guys gave in. Well done and keep up the great effort. Let’s make the company’s proud as u represent it.👏👏👏💪💪💪

The gelato is to die for here, had the honey comb and the varhona. The brewed tea, presumably made fresh - was otherworldly. We had the strawberry Lime. Contrary’s to some reviewers’ comments abt the too espressoness of the americano, I can only say the coffee is first rate and the aroma is stunning and it is a perfect paring with the ice cream. Most importantly this is a place that makes people happy: everyone around me was having a great time and us too!

Licker's ice cream at Hougang has been one of my go-to spots for ice cream, and I've been back many times. They have a great selection of flavours, so there's always something new to try. My personal favourites are the Pistachio and any flavour with truffle—they're rich, creamy, and packed with flavour. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely keep coming back! 👍💪👌👀
