Our take: AC Braised Duck and Kway Chap has a loyal following that trailed them from their previous 605 location to their current spot at Broadway Coffee Shop, Yishun Ring Road — and that goodwill is being tested.

The braised duck, when it's on, draws genuine praise: tender meat, a rich herbal-savoury braise, and kway that fans describe as soft and silky with fragrant shallot oil.

The $8.50 duck leg set with tofu and yam rice represents a fair price point.

But the consistency problem is hard to ignore.

Multiple regulars flag a noticeable drop in standards post-relocation — meagre duck portions, kway that hasn't absorbed the braise, and at least one report of pig skin with hair still intact.

Pricing has also crept up, with a $12.50 order arriving short on actual duck meat.

Service is polarising: some reviewers praise friendly, attentive staff; others report a rude encounter and irregular charging.

The stall's operating hours (listed as 7:30am–8:30pm daily) don't always match reality, with closures reported before 5pm.

Our verdict: worth a try if you're already in Yishun and catching them on form — but temper expectations and verify they're open before making the trip.

What customers say

AC Braised Duck and Kway Chap, now operating at 414 Yishun Ring Road after relocating from their previous 605 location, draws a divided crowd.

Fans praise the tender braised duck, silky kway with fragrant shallot oil broth, well-done intestines, and yam rice, with some loyal customers following the stall from its old location.

However, a vocal group of critics — including former regulars — report a noticeable drop in standards since the move, citing duck porridge with barely any meat, kway that is bland and floury, pork intestines with unpleasant smell, and inconsistent portion sizes relative to the price.

Service is also contested, with some reviewers commending friendly and helpful staff while others report a rude female staff member and irregular pricing practices.

Andrew 好介绍强力推荐! Some 30 fellow members from FB foodie group Can Eat! SG, turned up today to enjoy a delicious Kway Chap Extravaganza! All eat until “Peng Sung” then 依依不舍地离开! The food was amazing! I love the thinly sliced Kway here. The soup, served along with goji berries n fried garlic bits, made me come back here over n over again. The braised duck, meat n intestines were all nicely done. No weird smell whatsoever. We ate till we almost dropped! Be it kway, noodles or even yam rice, they all tick the “Can Eat!” boxes for me. Highly recommended to all! 👍 Operating Hours: 7.30am to 8.30pm Daily @ AC Braised Duck n Kway Chap - Broadway Coffee Shop 414 Yishun Ring Road, #01-1871, S(760414). #CESG #caneat #andrew好介绍 #kwaychap #粿汁 #卤鸭 #braisedduck

AC Braised Duck and Kway Chap is a must-try! We absolutely loved the tender, flavorful braised duck. The pork belly and other ingredients were perfectly braised in a rich, herbal sweet-savory sauce, and the intestines were tender. The kway was soft and silky, elevated by the fragrant shallot oil in the broth. My kids love this kway alot. Comforting, satisfying, and definitely worth a visit!
