Our take: 1036 Fusion sits in Seletar with a camping-vibes outdoor setup, pet-friendly seating, and dartslive machines — it's clearly built for the kind of long, unhurried group meal that's hard to find in Singapore.

The $35 nett Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat is the headline act: reviewers consistently flag the rich, full-bodied broth and generous ingredients, and the transparent nett pricing (no GST, no service charge) makes the value proposition genuinely compelling.

The signature wings and butter fried sotong also earn repeat mentions.

We'd be remiss not to flag the inconsistencies, though.

Some diners find the steamboat broth outstanding; at least one found it tasted of straight milk — suggesting execution can vary.

A few dishes (kailan, pork ribs) have drawn average-at-best feedback, and portion sizes feel modest to some.

The bigger operational concern is staffing: during weekends and peak hours, food waits of 40–60 minutes are well-documented, and the kitchen has been known to run out of popular items like salted egg squid mid-service.

Best for groups of 4–8 who book ahead and come on a weekday evening — the atmosphere, pricing, and hospitality shine brightest when the kitchen isn't overwhelmed.

What customers say

1036 Fusion Pte Ltd, located in the Seletar area, draws consistent praise for its outdoor camping-style ambience, pet-friendly setting, and transparent nett pricing with no GST or service charge.

Standout dishes frequently mentioned include the Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat, signature chicken wings, butter fried sotong, black pepper crab, and deep-fried baby squid — with many noting authentic, nostalgic zi char flavours.

However, a recurring operational pain point is severely understaffed service during peak hours, leading to food waits exceeding 40–60 minutes, and a handful of reviewers found specific dishes — including the fish head steamboat and kailan — underwhelming in taste.

The dart machines and family-friendly outdoor seating are frequently cited as bonus draws that enhance the overall experience.

We decided on a last-minute visit right before closing on a weekday, and honestly, the service was top-notch from start to finish! Even though the restaurant was quiet (just us a group of 4, and another table of 2), the staff made us feel so welcome. We were already quite full and just wanted to try out a couple of dishes, and the waitress (a lovely staff from China) served us with genuine warm hospitality. Absolutely no bad attitude at all despite our small order! Here’s what we ordered and why we’re already planning our next visit: Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat ($35 NETT) 🍲 Unbeatable value at $35 nett (no hidden service charge or extra GST!). The soup base was exceptionally rich, full-bodied, and flavor-packed without making us feel thirsty afterward—you can tell it's made with real, honest ingredients! The fish was super fresh and generous with ingredients. When we asked for a soup refill, they literally gave us a huge bowl of rich, undiluted broth. Pure perfection! Deep Fried Baby Squid 🦑 Finding that nostalgic, old-school (gu zao wei) taste nowadays is so hard, but they nailed it completely! Crispy, fragrant, and coated in that rich, sweet-savory glaze. Truly nostalgic! Verdict: High quality ingredients, authentic nostalgic flavors, transparent nett pricing, and sincere service. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommended! 🔥

Came here for the first time. The food was all good. We had the zhi char stuff. (Pai seh, forgot to take photo). Price may be slightly steep. But, there are dartslive machines! So why not! 🤣👍🏼 They have Condor axe, trinidad darts 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
